How do I insert the retaining sleeves?

Before inserting the various nylon retention sleeves, it’s important to make the right choice. Their purpose is to improve stabilization of the patient’s prosthesis. There are two types of sheath: those with a central cylinder for small divergences (0 to 20°) and those for large divergences (20 to 40°). They are distinguished by the absence of a central orifice.Whatever the color of the sheath, it’s important to use the 3-in-1 tool to insert them correctly and avoid damaging them in the housing. To do this, you’ll need to unscrew the tip of the tool completely, so as to reveal the gripping cylinder. Position the sheath over it, present the prosthesis horizontally and press down firmly.

How do you measure gum height?

The correct measurement of gingival height is essential to the success of your prosthetic project. The choice of abutment depends on the brand, implant range and gingival height.

There are several options for measuring abutment height: periodontal probe or TRY IN abutments (phantom abutments).

The active part of the attachment measures 1.5 mm and should never be included in the measurement. To do this, present the periodontal probe in such a way that it takes into account the neck of the implant up to the most emergent part of the gingiva. It is advisable to add 1 mm to your measurement to avoid compressing the mucosa.

If you’re using TRY IN, simply place the phantom abutments in the implant and follow the same procedure as for the periodontal probe. Once determined, simply read the indicated ref.

How to compensate for large discrepancies in implant-supported prosthetics?

Divergence can be managed in two ways: using retention sleeves or opting for an angled abutment.

The first solution is to use the high divergence prosthetic kit (Green, Orange, Red Sheath) to compensate for up to 40° between two implants. This option has its limitations and may lead to premature wear of the abutments.

The second option is to use a Clic’nLoc 18° indexable angled abutment, which will not only compensate for parallelism, but also provide greater comfort for the patient when inserting the prosthesis. Implants will be less stressed, and angled abutments will guarantee better retention over time.

The Clic’nLoc Angled Abutment is available for a wide range of implant brands and gingival heights.

Make implant abutment selection easy with Try in Kit

The Try in Kit is designed to help you choose implant abutments, taking into account the specifics of each case. By testing sizes and angulations before finalizing your order, you avoid costly adjustments and save time. This tool also provides better visualization of insertion axes to ensure optimal prosthetic placement.

The most important thing to remember is that you’re not changing your habits from the leading product. The Clic’nLoc attachment, made in Germany, offers a number of advantages, such as a zirconium carbonitride surface treatment for improved abrasion resistance over time. A ceramic coating prevents plaque build-up, and the color of the abutment blends in with the gums.

The Clic’nLoc attachment is available in a straight version, as well as an angled version to compensate for large discrepancies. Its prosthetic counterpart is also anodized in pink, and its external grooving ensures better resin adhesion. Compatible with a wide range of implant brands, the abutment is universally screwable, thanks to 1.25 mm hexagon. Also, the retention sleeves in nylon or HPP guarantee exceptional retention.

If you already have the tool from the leading product, you can keep it as your operating process will remain unchanged. However, if you wish to acquire an equivalent tool, we invite you to order the 4-in-1 tool, which allows you to insert and remove retention cap on its upper part. The lower part allows you to screw and unscrew any Clic’nLoc pillar.

The compatibility and reciprocity of the prosthetic kit with the leading abutment are guaranteed, although we always prefer to offer both replacement solutions.

Clic’nLoc’s strong point is its ability to compensate for divergence, as the abutment is angled at 18° and indexable. This means you have a choice of positioning options, plus the option of adding sheaths for large discrepancies. This solution means greater patient comfort, less stress on implants, and longer abutment life.
